China 10km Elite Jiangsu First Race (Nanjing Lishui Station) Starts

At 8:30 am on September 10th, the first leg of the China 10km Elite Race in Jiangsu (Nanjing Lishui Station) fired a gun and started running at the foot of Wuxiang Mountain. 4000 domestic and foreign athletes competed passionately, setting a new record for the 2023 race.

The contestants set off from the starting point of the section near Xingzhuang Talent Apartment, along routes such as Qinhuai Avenue, Wuxiangshan Avenue, Zhiyuan Road,to experience the “straight track” and fully appreciate the ecological beauty of Wuxiangshan. Along the way, the running crowd transformed into a “speed elf” among the green mountains and waters, as if flowing smoothly on a picturesque track.

“16 outdoor enthusiasts from our Hefei Marathon Association have joined us in the competition, ”said He Yucheng, a senior student from Hefei University. “This is the first race in autumn, and I came with a playful mindset, mainly to experience the good track of Lishui.”

Xu Jianjiang from Ningbo is 65 years old this year. As a long-distance runner, he has participated in competitions in many cities. After experiencing the urban environment and event services in Lishui, he gave a thumbs up and said, “The sports atmosphere in Lishui is very strong, and the track is both in the city and at the foot of the mountain. This feeling is very good, and we will definitely come back in the future.”

On site, in addition to long-distance running enthusiasts from both domestic and international sources, many top domestic runners and sports bloggers such as Xu Shuangshuang, Xie Dongsheng, Wang Wenjie, Wang Panpan, and Zhang Jiahui also gathered in Lishui to challenge the record of the China 10km race.

After intense competition, Wang Wenjie, a member of the track and field team at Tsinghua University, won the men's elite group championship in the first leg of the China 10km Elite Race in Jiangsu in 29 minutes and 47 seconds, setting a new record for the 2023 Olympics; Chinese track and field athlete Xu Shuangshuang from Shanghai won the women's elite group championship in 34 minutes and 09 seconds. “I used to participate in field races before, but today's road race felt great. The scenery along the way was so beautiful, and I felt very happy. It helped me achieve good results! ”Xu Shuangshuang said happily.

The China 10km Elite Race is China's first 10km national level road race IP, managed and guided by the China Athletics Association, and operated according to A1 competition certification. Lishui is the first stop of the “China 10km Elite Race” in Jiangsu. The results of the athlete's competition will be included in the official database of the China Athletics Association, and can be declared as a popular Chinese road runner. The results created can be declared as national, Asian, and world records.

This competition is centered around “speed” and based on “competition”, with two groups set up: the 10 kilometer elite group and the 10 kilometer mass group, covering various groups to the greatest extent possible. The track is set up to the maximum extent near the mountain, with an overall elevation difference of no more than 20 meters, providing excellent track conditions for athletes to create their personal best results.

The first stop of the China 10km Elite Race in Jiangsu, located in Lishui, is a new attempt to integrate the high-quality development of the cultural, tourism, and sports industries in Lishui. It is also an important measure to promote national fitness, implement the sports power strategy, and deepen the integrated development of sports, culture, tourism, and health industries.
