Lishui Golden Manor Strawberries Passed SGS Carbon Footprint Certification

The international certification agency SGS recently issued the first SGS fruit industry carbon footprint certification certificate to Nanjing Golden Manor in China.

"Carbon footprint" refers to the collection of greenhouse gas emissions caused by various behavioral processes of enterprises, institutions, activities, products, or individuals. In the context of the carbon peak and carbon neutrality strategy, more and more enterprises are paying attention to carbon footprint and carbon reduction.

Nanjing Golden Manor is a national key agricultural industrialization leading enterprise located in Lishui, mainly engaged in strawberry planting, processing, and sales. It has a strawberry planting base of 8000 acres and has created the strawberry brand "Raspberry Little Rabbit". Last October, Nanjing Golden Manor collaborated with SGS, a third-party inspection, appraisal, testing, and certification agency headquartered in Switzerland, to officially launch carbon footprint certification.

"This certification mainly focuses on the information of the enterprise's raw material usage, transportation, and energy resource consumption during the planting stage, and identifies, monitors, collects, and verifies cycle data within the product scope." Wu Yanping, manager of the quality department of Nanjing Golden Manor, told reporters that technical personnel quantitatively evaluated the entire process activity data from planting strawberry seedlings to packaging and entering the market in the previous strawberry season, accurately calculated, the carbon footprint of producing 1 ton of "Raspberry Rabbit" product at Golden Manor is 1.619 tons of carbon equivalent, which is lower than the global average of 2.94 tons of carbon equivalent.

"Carbon footprint is an important indicator for measuring the environmental impact of products. Compared with foreign companies, the calculation data of Golden Manor strawberry products has outstanding advantages, which is of positive significance for promoting Lishui strawberries to enter the international market." Wu Yingqiang, Deputy General Manager of Nanjing Golden Manor, introduced that Golden Manor is currently in talks with distributors in Singapore, Malaysia and other countries, hoping to improve Nanjing's agricultural products by entering the international market The brand influence of Lishui strawberries.
