On July 10, the "Reading with 'Su Chao'" series of activities, organized by the Lishui District Publicity Department, officially commenced. The first event took place at the Lishui Literary Museum, where over 100 reading enthusiasts attended a special lecture and marked their reading progress, filling the venue with the fragrance of books.
The Lishui District has innovatively introduced the "Reading with 'Su Chao'" series, which includes theme lectures, salons, exhibitions, and more to promote reading in the city. At the inaugural event, Associate Professor Wenxin from Nanjing University of Communications delivered a unique themed lecture titled "Urban Fables—The Past and Present of Nanjing." Additionally, interactive areas for reading check-ins and "Lishui Gifts" cultural creations were set up on-site, enhancing the fun and effectiveness of reading through the format of "one renowned teacher + one good book + one cultural story + diverse interactions."
According to reports, this series of activities will last for more than two months, featuring a rich array of content and diverse formats. These include an online themed exhibition titled "Childlike Innocence in Ancient Poetry," reading check-ins under the theme "Zhongshan Children's Reading for Joyful Growth," as well as offline thematic lectures, reading salons, documentary films, cultural and creative intangible heritage, and summer study displays. The activities will also incorporate works from Nanjing Publishing House's "Classics of the Literary Capital" series and Southeast University Press's "City Check-in Series," deeply exploring and vividly narrating the cultural heritage, scenic spots, natural landscapes, and local delicacies of Jiangsu's 13 districts, spreading the aroma of books to every corner and benefiting more citizens.
In recent years, Lishui District has aimed to build a culturally rich city, innovatively creating 18 reading brands and consistently receiving provincial awards for public reading for six consecutive years. The Lishui Literary Museum, as a new cultural promotion platform established by the Lishui District Publicity Department, has become the "headquarters" for the "Reading with 'Su Chao'" series of activities. It is reported that the Lishui Literary Museum not only displays local literary materials and works from Nanjing but also houses over 3,000 books, making it a popular destination for local citizens to check in.
