On the morning of August 18, the signing ceremony of major projects of Jiangsu Nanjing NationalAgriculturalHigh-techDemonstrationZone was held in Jiangsu Baima Agricultural International Expo Center. Lishui District of Nanjing city signed an agreement with Nanjing Forestry University to jointly build a new campus of Nanjing Forestry University and an AgriculturalScience and TechnologyInnovationPort, creating the first "university without walls" integrating industry and education in the Yangtze River Delta, marking the Yangtze River Delta taking a key step in exploring thesource of agricultural science and technology innovation.

According to reports, the "university without walls" mainly refers to the open-styleuniversitywithout walls or boundaries. Meanwhile, it has "campus, town, park and community"togetherto break through the academic wall and create a platform for the deep integration of school and society.

The new campus of Nanjing Forestry University and the AgriculturalScience and TechnologyInnovationPort cover a total area of about 1300 acres, of which the total construction area of the new campus is about 550,000 square meters. It is expected that the first batch of students willenter the campus in September 2022, and the main campus with a scale of 30,000people will be built in the future. The InnovationPort plans to build frontier science and technology innovation college, industry andentrepreneurship college and Sino-foreigncooperative schools, etc., focusing on attracting industry-leading enterprises and well-known academic institutions, jointly building laboratories and research platforms, and building a scientific and technological innovation harbor integrating scientific research, education, incubation and comprehensive services.

Eight leading projects were signedon the same day, involving scientific and technological innovation, industrial development, investment funds and other fields. TheFuture FoodScience and TechnologyCenter of Jiangnan University, the High-levelResearch and IndustryIncubationProject of Nanjing Agricultural University, and the Agricultural Machinery Equipment Technology Research Institute of Jiangsu Universityalso involve in the signing ceremony. COFCO China Resources NewConsumptionIndustryFundwith 2 billion yuanof fundsisestablished by COFCO group, China Resources Group, Nanjing Zijin InvestmentGroup and the AgriculturalHigh-techIndustryDemonstrationZone. Wu Xiaopeng, GeneralManager ofCOFCOFund, said that the fund will focus on new consumption and food technology. It is expected to invest in about 15 projects in the next two to three years, which will inject financial resourcesinto the construction of Nanjing Agricultural High-tech Zone.

TheKeji System Co., Ltd.fromNetherland, thebig agricultural country in the world, will build high standard agricultural intelligent greenhouse and AgriculturalEquipmentManufacturingDemonstrationPark project in Nanjing Agricultural High-tech Zone. Through realizingagricultural production industrialization through automatic control system, it will create green and intelligent agriculturalapplication, and build high-end intelligent greenhouse, agricultural equipment manufacturing centerandberry cultivation training center, etc. This means that the construction of InternationalAgriculturalScience and TechnologyCooperationDemonstrationZonebuilt byNanjing NationalAgriculturalHigh-tech Zone has gainedsubstantivedevelopment.

In addition to thecontactsigning ofa number of major projects with high valueand high industrial compatibility, the Management Committee (Preparatory)of Nanjing Agricultural High-tech Zone officially unveiledthe establishment of theExpertAdvisoryCommittee of Nanjing National AgriculturalHigh-tech Zone at the signing ceremony. Seventeen well-known experts from the fields of biological agriculture, future food, agricultural equipment, and intelligent agriculture were appointed as the first batch of committee members to help the AgriculturalHigh-techZoneto gather scientific and technological innovation resourcesat an acceleratingpace and with high-quality development.
