Since the beginning of this year, the development of the pharmaceutical logistics industry in Jingqiao Town, Lishui District, has burst forth with new momentum. Three newly introduced smart pharmaceutical logistics companies—Fuli Pharmaceutical, Puxian Pharmaceutical, and Zhongjin Weiya Pharmaceutical—have all begun production as scheduled, forming a strong synergistic effect with existing enterprises.

Entering the smart warehouse of Nanjing Fuli Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., the scene is bustling with shipments and orderly operations. As a comprehensive company integrating drug wholesale, distribution, and medical device wholesale, nearly ten batches of drugs are dispatched from here to major hospitals across the province daily. “Since starting operations in June, the company has achieved an output value of 50 million yuan. The park’s complete facilities and attentive services have boosted our confidence in development,” said Ma Jiankang, the logistics manager of the company. It is expected that by 2026, the company’s annual output value will exceed 200 million yuan, accelerating the “production and sprint” process.

The momentum for green transformation comes from the efficient activation and precise utilization of existing resources. In recent years, Jingqiao Town has resolutely promoted “emptying cages to replace birds” by shutting down chemical companies in the Guanshan Industrial Zone. This effort has combined the revitalization of idle factory buildings from eliminated companies with deepened investment attraction, bringing in over ten quality enterprises in pharmaceutical logistics and health manufacturing, such as Nanjing Yong'an Pharmaceutical Logistics and Jiangsu Yihua Changda Pharmaceutical Logistics. By 2024, these two pharmaceutical logistics companies had achieved an output value of nearly 500 million yuan, laying a solid foundation for the emerging pharmaceutical logistics industry chain.

With the arrival of new enterprises, Jingqiao Town has gathered five pharmaceutical logistics companies, initially forming a service closed loop from warehousing and distribution to intelligent sorting and full traceability. The industry agglomeration effect is gradually becoming apparent, and it is expected that by 2025, the total output value of related industries will reach nearly 800 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 60%.

“Planting a phoenix tree to attract the phoenix” is the philosophy behind Jingqiao Town's efforts to better undertake industrial projects. The town is focused on building professional platform carriers. Among them, the Nanjing Smart Health Innovation Park is a major city-level project co-built by the government and enterprises, covering an area of approximately 205,000 square meters, and is being developed in three phases. Currently, Zone A has been put into use, attracting 12 enterprises and becoming an important incubation base for their growth.

In terms of investment attraction, Jingqiao Town is actively expanding models such as “partner parks” and “headquarters + bases,” accurately targeting areas such as health, smart manufacturing, and medical devices. So far this year, 11 projects with investments exceeding 100 million yuan have been signed, with 10 potential enterprises in reserve. At the same time, by establishing a full lifecycle service mechanism for enterprises, the town continuously optimizes the business environment, promoting the upgrade of industries toward greening and intelligence.

"We not only want to gather enterprises but also to build a competitive industrial ecosystem," said the person in charge of Jingqiao Town. They will continue to deepen the investment attraction of the industry chain around health, smart manufacturing, and medical devices, optimizing the industrial layout through “extending chains, supplementing chains, and strengthening chains,” and using precise investment attraction to promote the agglomeration of upstream and downstream industries. The goal is to create a “Lishui characteristic, Nanjing first-class, nationally renowned” logistics service center for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, making “innovative manufacturing + smart healthcare” a distinct industrial identifier for Jingqiao Town.
