At the beginning of the new year, momentum is surging. On January 2, Bystronic (Jiangsu) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. officially commenced operations in Yongyang Subdistrict, Lishui District.

Inside the brand-new modern factory, automated production lines are running smoothly, and smart equipment is operating in an orderly manner. Covering an area of 25,000 square meters, the facility focuses on high-end equipment manufacturing, with main products including laser cutting machines, laser tube cutting machines, CNC bending machines, heavy-duty bending machines, and intelligent production lines. Upon reaching full production capacity, the factory is expected to produce 500 sets of intelligent laser cutting equipment annually.

The parent company of Bystronic (Jiangsu) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Anhui Bystronic Laser Technology Co., Ltd., is a pioneer in the domestic fiber laser industry. To expand its industrial layout and enhance its intelligent manufacturing capabilities, the company signed an agreement to establish its presence in Lishui in May 2023. Construction began just six months later, and the company successfully scaled up its operations within the same year, becoming the only investment project in Lishui to achieve "signing, construction commencement, and scaling up within the same year." In July 2025, the company entered its trial production phase.

"From signing the agreement to commencing production, we have truly experienced the 'Lishui Speed' and received efficient, full-process services," said Zhang Wei, the company's general manager. He added that this year, the company will actively engage in industry-academia-research collaborations with local vocational colleges to strengthen talent cultivation and establish a live-streaming platform to expand into international markets. The goal is to strive for an annual output value of 200 million yuan and grow into a key component of Lishui's intelligent manufacturing equipment sector.

A representative from Yongyang Subdistrict stated that the official commencement of Bystronic’s operations will further strengthen Yongyang's high-end equipment industry chain, promote the sector's advancement toward intelligence, high-end development, and sustainability, and inject new vitality into building a more resilient and competitive modern industrial system.

Lishui District is a key hub for Nanjing's intelligent manufacturing equipment industry. In 2025, the CNC machine tool functional components industrial cluster, centered in Yongyang Subdistrict, successfully achieved "national-level" recognition, accelerating industrial agglomeration and energy-level enhancement. Through targeted investment initiatives aligned with project commencement and production milestones, Yongyang Subdistrict attracted 14 projects throughout the year, with a total investment exceeding 4.3 billion yuan, over 80% of which were upstream and downstream enterprises in the CNC machine tool industry.
