Lishui District and Nanjing Normal University Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On January 14, the Lishui District Government and Nanjing Normal University signed a strategic cooperation agreement. During the signing ceremony, the Subject Teaching Research Base of the School of Chemistry and Materials Science and the Party Building and Education Innovation Collaborative Research Center of the School of Marxism were officially unveiled. Attendees included Hua Guihong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Nanjing Normal University; Yue Song, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President; Wang Guoping, Secretary of the Lishui District Party Committee; and Gao Junling, District Mayor, among others.

As a national "Double First-Class" university and a high-level university in Jiangsu, Nanjing Normal University has one national "Double First-Class" discipline, six national key disciplines, three national key (cultivating) disciplines, and 18 advantageous disciplines in Jiangsu universities. Its School of Marxism is among the third batch of national key Marxist schools, while 15 disciplines, including chemistry, agricultural sciences, and biology and biochemistry, rank among the top 1% globally in ESI. The strategic cooperation agreement focuses on four key areas: technological collaboration and research commercialization, educational cooperation and teacher training, high-level talent recruitment and cultivation, and employment and entrepreneurship for university students, aiming to foster collaborative innovation and mutual development between the university and the district.

At the symposium, Hua Guihong noted that in recent years, Nanjing Normal University has optimized its academic programs, deepened collaborations with local governments, enterprises, institutions, and international partners, and developed a practical education system integrating the "five chains" of education, talent, innovation, industry, and technology. This approach extends talent cultivation from academia to industry and society, focusing on nurturing high-tech professionals with practical innovation capabilities, aligning education supply with talent demand, and promoting the integrated development of education, technology, talent, and industry. He expressed hope that this agreement would leverage the strengths of both sides to deepen integration, implement more projects, and support the district’s industrial growth.

Wang Guoping emphasized that Lishui boasts abundant natural resources, a rich cultural heritage, and a solid industrial foundation. The district is committed to implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Party and the requirements of provincial and municipal economic work conferences. It is advancing an industrial development strategy focused on "two new and two smart" industries, while proactively planning for future industries and refining its modern industrial system. He highlighted the critical role of talent and intellectual support in industrial growth and expressed hope for multi-level collaborations with Nanjing Normal University’s schools to advance education, technology, and talent development in alignment with Lishui’s industrial system and emerging sectors. This synergy, he added, would promote both high-quality industrial development in Lishui and the university’s first-class discipline construction.

Gao Junling outlined Lishui’s economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and the progress of its "two new and two smart" industries. She hoped both sides would collaborate to meet Lishui’s development needs, deepen innovation coordination, enhance education quality, and jointly cultivate talent. This includes cooperation in talent recruitment, platform development, and research commercialization, such as helping key enterprises establish "joint laboratories" on production lines, improving basic education quality, and fostering deeper integration between technological and industrial innovation, quality education resources and regional development, and talent cultivation and local needs to achieve tangible outcomes.

During the event, the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering of Nanjing Normal University signed an agreement with Zhuerkang Motor to establish a joint postgraduate training base, while the School of Food and Pharmaceutical Engineering signed an industry-university-research collaboration agreement with YouNeng Group. Prior to the meeting, district leaders visited the School of Food and Pharmaceutical Engineering and the Innovation Valley of Nanjing Normal University.

Also in attendance were Fei Lili, Chen Jianning, Tan Zhiyun, Song Yang, and other leaders from Nanjing Normal University and the district.
