World's Fastest Flash Charging Arrives! Two Charging Stations Operational in Lishui

Charging from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, and reaching 97% in 9 minutes; even in extreme cold of -30°C, charging from 20% to 97% takes only 3 minutes longer than at room temperature... At the recent "Flash Charge China, Change the World" launch event, BYD officially unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology, setting a new global mass-production record for charging speed.

At this historic moment, Lishui once again takes center stage. Two flash charging demonstration stations, located at the BYD after-sales facility in Lishui Economic Development Zone, have been completed and put into operation ahead of schedule. These are among the first batch of operational flash charging sites in the country, accumulating experience for the nationwide promotion of BYD's "Flash Charge China" strategy.

Solving Industry Challenges: Second-Gen Blade Battery Redefines Flash Charging

For a long time, "slow charging" and "difficulty charging in low temperatures" have been two major global challenges plaguing the new energy vehicle industry. The key to solving the charging pain point lies in the battery.

After six years of dedicated development, BYD has officially launched the second-generation Blade Battery. By creating a "lithium-ion high-speed channel" and a "full-temperature-range intelligent thermal management system," it achieves flash charging while increasing energy density by over 5% compared to the first generation. The Denza Z9GT, equipped with this technology, boasts a range of 1036 kilometers, truly achieving "fast charging and long range."

Technically, flash charging has almost no impact on battery lifespan. BYD has simultaneously enhanced its battery warranty policy, offering a "lifetime warranty" for the battery cells. To achieve the flash charging speed, BYD also newly developed the world's highest-power mass-produced single-gun charging pile—the 1500kW flash charging pile. Coupled with a super-fast-discharge energy storage system, it overcomes grid capacity limitations without harming the grid, becoming the most socially friendly charging solution.

Addressing pain points of traditional public charging piles such as heavy guns, dirty cables, and poor mobility, BYD's flash charging pile adopts a globally pioneering "sliding rail suspended T-type pile" design. The cable is lightweight and suspended, offering an almost "zero-gravity" feel; users can easily slide it left or right for more flexible charging. Simultaneously, BYD has integrated all links between the vehicle and the pile. With simple settings via the Flash Charge APP, users can achieve "plug-and-charge, seamless payment."

Lishui Leads the Way: National Flash Charging Network Starts Here

With the announcement of BYD's "Flash Charge China" strategic plan, a nationwide flash charging network is rapidly expanding. According to the plan, by the end of 2026, BYD will build 20,000 flash charging stations across China, truly making flash charging ubiquitous nationwide.

Among these, BYD will collaborate with national charging network operators to accelerate construction using the "flash charging station-within-station" model, aiming to complete 18,000 stations by year-end. In terms of coverage, flash charging stations will be accessible within 3 kilometers in first- and second-tier cities, 5 kilometers in third- and fourth-tier cities, and 6 kilometers in fifth- and sixth-tier cities, truly bringing stations to users' doorsteps.

Furthermore, BYD's "Flash Charge Highway Stations" will cover nearly one-third of highway service areas, with 2,000 stations expected by the end of this year. This will result in an average of one flash charging station every 100+ kilometers. BYD has committed to completing the first 1,000 stations before this year's May Day holiday, ensuring worry-free holiday travel for users.

In this grand blueprint, Lishui has taken the first step. The two demonstration stations serve as pioneering models for the national flash charging network layout, turning the dream of "charging as fast as refueling" into reality.

From Flash Charge China to Flash Charge Freedom: Lishui in Sync with the World

Starting from Lishui, BYD's flash charging network is gradually extending across the country. In the future, BYD will also launch a "Dream Build Station" plan—wherever at least four BYD owners jointly request it, and conditions permit, a station can be planned and built. The stations will be built where user demand is.

As a key area for Nanjing's new energy vehicle industry, Lishui has vigorously developed high-end manufacturing and cultivated new quality productive forces in recent years. Batch after batch of "hardcore products" and "cutting-edge technologies" have emerged from here, reaching nationwide and global markets. From "Made in Lishui" to "Applied in Lishui," from product exports to technological leadership, Lishui is accelerating its integration into the forefront of the global new energy vehicle industry transformation.
